Detergent
The launderer in Pabal uses a detergent called Neema to wash clothes. Commercial detergents can be purchased at many of the general stores. The launderer also uses a bleaching powder. Before chemical detergents, a fruit called "Reetha" was used. However, the it's quality is not as high as the commercial detergents.
Washing
Clothes are usually washed in a bucket with detergent.
Drying
Clothes are hung outside for drying unless it is raining, in which case they are hung inside. Clothes take only two hours to dry during the dry weather. If it is humid, drying can take a number of days.
Launderer Business
The launderer uses about two barrels of water a day and washes about 25-100 shirts each day.
