Prevalence
Computers are currently available in three public locations in the village: at Vigyan Ashram, Community Internet Center, and at the Main Primary School in Pabal. Only Vigyan Ashram and the Community Center also offer internet. There are a small number of villagers that own a computer in their home, but none have internet access.
Use
Farmers can get farming advice using the internet, but it is not clear how widely this service is used.
Issues
There have been frequent problems with computer hardware breaking down. There are not many people who know how to fix computers, and there are not many spare parts. Internet connection is also unreliable and difficult to fix. Internet kiosk operators may require more training.
Software
Vigyan Ashram sells educational software that can be used to learn Microsoft Office Suite.
